Ellsworth Sestercentennial Celebration Events
The following events are sponsored by the Ellsworth Public Library.
1 Mile Fun Run
Saturday the 20th 9:00 AM
The library will be holding a one mile fun run on July 20st at 9am. Registration begins at 8am. Entrance fee is $10 for pre-registration, $15 day-of, and children under 10 are free. Registration forms are at the library for those that want to sign up early, the first 30 get a free North Face t-shirt. Proceeds will go to benefit the library.
“When We Were the Kennedys" by Monica Wood
Thursday, July 25th Noon-1:00 pm
"When We Were the Kennedys," written by Monica Wood, is a powerful memoir of life in Maine 50 years ago. It was the winner of the 2012 May Sarton Memoir Award for best memoir by US or Canadian woman. Riverview room at the Ellsworth Public Library For more information, call the library at 667-6363.
“Follow the Cannon' - Clara Barton's Civil War Letters”
Thursday, July 25th 6:00p.m.
One-woman play about Clara Barton, entitled “Follow the Cannon”: Clara Barton’s Civil War Letters, performed by Lynne McKenney Lydick. Ms. Lydick will dress as Clara Barton and reads the letters. Ellsworth Public Library. For more information, call the library at 667-6363.
